ABOUT THE BOOT GUY: The boot guy reviews started out as my way to help people make better buying decisions when it came to buying footwear ONLINE. I wanted to be the go-to guy on the net when people had questions about boots and gear.

I have the logandale and I work in telecommunications climbing up towers running around the ground cold hot. Took about a week for the insoles to break in but after that most comfortable light weight boot I’ve ever had. Also has a very good slip resistant feel when I’m on steel and in snow. Keen dry works perfect dry all day and if you’re not wearing insulated socks it’s breathable which keeps my normally sweaty feet dry all around great boot never would of expected this “hiking” boot to be able to work this good.

What boot is on your left foot?

I got a pair of those wedge sole Cabela’s work boots on clearance at my local store for a steal, and they’ve been good to me so far. Broke in quickly, they are indeed a nice wide fit, and are quite comfortable. The leather scuffs a little easier than nubuck would, but that’s to be expected, and everything but the worst cuts and scrapes can be easily buffed out. I like the brown leather coloration they chose, something you don’t see every day in this price range. Half of my immediate family has Keen boots and they’ve all been happy with them, so I got my lady friend some and she has been pleased. Glad to see they get a thumbs up from the Boot Guy! More videos in this style would be cool to see. Thanks!

Hey Isaac, I loved this video, I don’t have a Cabela’s near me that I know of but I’d like to see something like this for REI. On a different note, my cousin is studying to be a lineman and I’m looking for a good pair of noncondductive boots to buy him for when he graduates his program. Any recommendations?

The only thing in this video that could be considered a boot, is the boot on your left foot. All of the shoes you reviewed might be comfortable, but they are not boots. You make some very good videos but this was a complete waste of time.

Thank for the very informative video. I really got interested in that number 3 boot, I have to check Cabelas next time I’m shopping for my next pair. Now, I’m assuming you’re somehow allowed to show and review other brands and stores so, I would like to see a review on Duluth Trading’s work boots. Also, if it’s not much to inquire, can you make a review video on square toe work boots?
    Thanks.

This was a great video. Some more of these would be a good thing.
I’m guessing you are an inspector of some type for a civil engineering outfit.

Ah, you’re from Chicago? Me too. Where do you fishing around Chicago? I am going to explore Vernon Hills this spring and summer. Looks like they might have some good fishing spots.

Glad to see someone looking at boots other than the fancy dress high dollar boots. Just an FYI, Bass Pro Shops now owns Cabela’s. So you can go to either store and share the line up. Thank you for mentioning the associates at the store. Send that store a note to recognize them. It means a lot to them and the store will recognize them as such. More reviews like this on these style of boots.

It’s a good thing to have knowledgeable and caring staff that are happy to help! A rare thing indeed in this day and age!

Kenns are no joke. Here in the east coast NY/NJ they are becoming very popular. The comfort on them are amazing

Surprised Keen wasn’t closer to the top. Love my Braddock’s . Thank god I don’t need a safety toe. Keep up the good work.

Another great review. I am finding that my Thorogood Omni’s are getting beaten up in the [leather] toe, would have to add weight with adding tough toe. Better solution is Keen, Logandale is good, also another boot you did, the Mt "Vermin." I think anyone who has to kick around and/or release cart brakes needs rubber toe protection. Thank you.
