First time purchasing a loafer, purchased the Gucci Horsebit leather loafer… and finding them a little slippery since there’s almost no sole on the bottom. Some friends told me to get some sole on it… what do you think? Thanks Antonio!

Hello Antonio, I plan to get a white dress shirt, navy blazer, small yellow bow tie with fine navy stripes and brown Loafer but don’t know what pants to rock with it as I haven’t bought them yet…..your advice…..

Loafers are definitely the most versatile dress shoes you can dress em up with suits dress em down with chinos jeans and even shorts. What other dress shoe can do that? Probably not oxfords derbys monkstraps or even boots

I like the horsebit with silver metal. I like the look of silver vs gold, as well as gunmetal (the color of the my frames when I was wearing glasses). The metal seems like something else you can play with when putting together an outfit.

Could someone recommend me a Loafer Brand for special slim feet? Usually I need size 44/45 but the problem is, that most shoes in these size are too wide for me and my feet slip out during walking. Thanks in Advance.

  24. iGlowInTheDark88 on May 16, 2020 at 3:29 am

Is there a difference in formality when it comes to wearing loafers with a wooden sole vs a rubber sole? Or is it only a quality difference?

  25. Steven Degli Angeli on May 16, 2020 at 3:30 am

Antonio, you are condescending. Like you know what you are taking about. I can’t stand you.

  29. Tiago Cavalcanti on May 16, 2020 at 3:37 am

Antonio: What type of loafer is safe to wear with jeans and Sports Jacket? Suede or Leather? I just do not want to look too formal. I see a dark brown mocassin (without laces) would work out but I am not sure. Thanks

  39. Je Ma on May 16, 2020 at 3:47 am

Antonio, you casually through-out an offensive word when discussing the Norwegian shoe. If I may suggest, maybe avoid that word or at least be sensitive to its offensive nature.

  40. Ian Ffield on May 16, 2020 at 3:50 am

I always hear people say to stick with loafers with pointed toes for business formal wear…

  41. Ahmad Sherif on May 16, 2020 at 3:55 am

Antonio, Since you haven’t talked about one common type of loafers: which is the plain loafers, couldn’t find any photos over the internet in less than 5 minutes except for those – not in any kind of ranking –

One question you don’t address her Antonio (maybe for a good reason!)…what about loafers with shorts? I hear different opinions on this subject. I think it’s a look that can work but good judgement is required. Generally speaking, this look is going to work better with longer tailored shorts and lighter coloured loafers, particularly suedes. If you have doubts, best to experiment with boat shoes first. What do you think?
