Need to wear dress shoes all day at the office? Have a wide foot that likes to spread its toes? In this video we explain why dress shoes can’t be as comfortable as running shoes. It all starts with the last. Dress shoe lasts are curved at the front to create a sleeker looking pair of shoes. However, this causes the little toes and foot to be forced inward toward the large toe. This may cause issues such as tailor’s bunions, corns and toe deformities. Learn how to improve the fit of your current dress shoes, as well as how to select better fitting dress shoes on your next shopping spree.

I wish there were more companies that made dressy shoes for women they looked nice. I love the brand Beautifeel from Israel but at $500.00 for a pair of shoes they are out of my price range!. So many ladies dressy shoes look nice, but just aren’t comfortable especially when you have bunions like I do.

One tip I can give as well is practice relaxing your toes. The more you tense them up, the more discomfort you’ll feel when they’re compressed by the shoe. Eventually you’ll get used to the feel and when the leather has that comfortable bit of give, the snug feel is great, especially if you walk a lot. I wore dress shoes every day for 7 years of school and nowadays tend to wear "jungle" combat boots a lot, and learning to relax has been a lifesaver.

Changing the insoles for more cushioning ones also goes a long way.
