If you wear anything other than new balance when driving, you are not a man.

  2. Frankie Pich on May 31, 2020 at 5:23 am

How you feel in the slip on shoe it a great video nice shoe you have

  3. kongmw on May 31, 2020 at 5:24 am

Sorry this is slightly off-topic. Given that Tod’s very rarely go on sale, although sometimes you can find them on flash sale sites if you act quickly, another way to get them at a more affordable price is to get them at Tod’s outlet stores. The colors/styles that you can find there are usually wonky but sometimes you score a gem, sometimes you walk away with something else.

I was just looking for driving mocs. Nice.

  5. Robert Cardwell on May 31, 2020 at 5:25 am

Alpinestars racing shoes for me, thank you.

  6. MrSquire10 on May 31, 2020 at 5:28 am

How did you not include Cobbler Union and/or J Fitzpatrick for this review??? Really enjoy your vids, but that’s some low-hanging fruit you’re leaving on the vine.

Nobody makes a Driver big enough #TallGuyBigFeetProblems

  8. Rodrigo Larreynaga on May 31, 2020 at 5:30 am

Weird, I always thought that driver shoes should be unlined leather… They conform better to your foot shape and deal better with humidity issues (also feel better on your skin when you are wearing them without socks). Florsheims are a decent alternative (for the price as least)
Love the videos, keep them coming

  9. dan83to on May 31, 2020 at 5:30 am

I absolutely love Tod’s drivers and all other Italian brands too. But I must admit, this is not your combat shoe at all.
Wait did I hear made in Brazil? haha we are somehow proud of the shoes made here indeed but they do not compete yet with European ones!

  10. Harrison Richards on May 31, 2020 at 5:31 am

Cobbler unions look really nice . I think I’m going give them a try

  11. Rafael Rossi on May 31, 2020 at 5:31 am

Great video. You did talked about Bobbies and how they are made in Portugal, but later said they are from Brazil. I got confused. I’ll look forward to get one of these beautiful driving shoes.

  12. H L Spence on May 31, 2020 at 5:32 am

Ralph Lauren puts out a pretty good quality driver (IMO)

  13. pranjal kumar on May 31, 2020 at 5:32 am

Eve and Kane are a really good brand for drivers

  14. Mustafa on May 31, 2020 at 5:33 am

how did u read my mind, I was just looking at mocs

  15. Turkeydoodlers L. on May 31, 2020 at 5:34 am

I bought some to boot ny drivers
Best I ever wore but were $$$

  16. Édi Melo on May 31, 2020 at 5:34 am

I was planing to buy some driving mocs or loafers for summer and didn’t knew any nice brands, now I know!
By the way, at 4:20 you got it wrong, you said "made in Brasil" instead of "made in Portugal", but it’s ok, people get confused about that all the time!
Thanks for the great video, Hello from Portugal!

  17. anton bach on May 31, 2020 at 5:36 am

I can recommend Aldo Bruè drivers. They have a different sole but I find them to be very comfortable and well made.

  18. ryan robicheaux on May 31, 2020 at 5:37 am

Not sure if I’m in the minority or what, but I hate the look of a driver. Just about everything about it. It reminds me of a slipper and the tread (especially the dot design) looks ridiculous. I feel like the entire silhouette just looks very juvenile

  19. James Dillman on May 31, 2020 at 5:41 am

Take a look at the Minnetonka driving mocs. They are high quality and very moderately priced. I have a pair of the moose skin mocs that are over ten years old. They still look like new, are easy to care for, and they are extremely comfortable. They also make outstanding slippers and other casual shoes. You can’t really go wrong with anything they make.

  20. Phillip Yao on May 31, 2020 at 5:44 am

    I don’t have drivers bec I don’t drive

  21. MrLolmaster101 on May 31, 2020 at 5:48 am

LOL brazil and portugal are not the same country

  22. Mark Herke on May 31, 2020 at 5:48 am

It’s the first time I’ve heard of a shoe designed for driving. Interesting. I’d probably use it as an alternative to slippers or flip flops. Not sure I’d go out of my way to put them on specifically for driving though. Good video, thanks.

  23. senoB on May 31, 2020 at 5:49 am

I have some Austen Heller and Allen Edmonds, many have a "plated" or "segmented" sole similar to the Nordstroms (except all separate), which greatly increases the longevity of the sole over "dots". Still plenty flexible. Leather is decent and so far mine have lasted multiple years with near daily wear except on frigid days.

  24. TotheK I N G D O M on May 31, 2020 at 5:49 am

These are right there with boat shoes for me. Nope, I feel there are better options. Good alternatives though.

  25. Cameron Clarke on May 31, 2020 at 5:49 am

All good options, but as someone who is ROUGH on their shoes, I have to say… I had a pair of the 1901’s from Nordstrom, and they lasted me LESS THAN SIX MONTHS. That being said, they were inexpensive and I think they’re sharp-looking shoes, so I did buy a second pair. (I’m very aware that this was primarily my fault–I genuinely tend to destroy my shoes).

On YOOX you find Tod’s for 200-260 EUR

  27. Francis Petrik on May 31, 2020 at 5:52 am

wait made in brazil or portugal ?

  28. Michael Suleiman on May 31, 2020 at 5:53 am

Have you ever purchased the dress shoes that Soxy offers? They look good but I’m curious if they’re actually good quality.

  29. Justin Hall Luper on May 31, 2020 at 5:57 am

Driver enthusiast, have been since high school. I do love a Tod’s and To Boot, but also New Republic is a good "disposable" option.

  30. Freco1967 on May 31, 2020 at 5:59 am

Cool! I’ve been looking for an option to Tod’s drivers, and was planning on a visit to Jack Erwin the next time I’m in NYC. Bobbies is new to me though, so thanks for sharing!

  31. David Williams on May 31, 2020 at 6:01 am

I found some good value drivers w/Ralph Lauren. Bought via outlet. Have black, cordovan and light brown leather. Work great w/various attire in Southwestern US.

  32. Mike Davis on May 31, 2020 at 6:03 am

Great video. I went with the wolf n Shepard Gunner drivers. They are decent. Comfortable for sure but insoles are removable and come out almost every time I take shoe off

  33. Cory Gorczycki on May 31, 2020 at 6:03 am

Was just looking at Tod’s and wondering what some cheaper alternatives were…perfect timing!

  34. Gentleman's Gazette on May 31, 2020 at 6:03 am

Thanks for the mention! This video is a good idea. Well done.

  35. DeJuan McGuire on May 31, 2020 at 6:04 am

I do not own a pair of driving mocs. But I am thinking about adding a pair. I would start out with an inexpensive pair, such as the Nordstrom/1901, or maybe New Republic Man to try them out. Then if I like them and wear them a lot, upgrade with the next pair. Good video!

Is it bad that I have a shoegasm just now?

  37. Theodore Skrodzki on May 31, 2020 at 6:06 am

I recently got a pair of Bobbies. Heads up for those buying from them, the website says they are narrow and they are not kidding. I’d follow their advice to size up. I have narrow feet and I still had to size up.

  38. Ej M on May 31, 2020 at 6:07 am

Lol dude. I’m obsessed with drivers! I love me some TODS…. My go to are TODS idealic but, yes as you have mentioned…. the cost will be issue. I have been known to select Cole Haan as a foundation piece in my closet. I actually feel that there is nothing better than a driver to wear in the summer heat with shorts or linen trousers. Another award winning tutorial video!

  39. alex godinez on May 31, 2020 at 6:08 am

happy new year, Alex from southern California, I adore loafers, they are my favorite shoes to wear.here in California I can wear them any season of the year.
you are most definitely correct on drivers vs sneakers, loafers look more defined and well dress.
see when you can make it out here, I still have the rain chick from you,lol take care Alex from southern California.

  40. Daniel Hakimi on May 31, 2020 at 6:09 am

I went to M. Gemi’s store and their sample sale… I do not agree with you about them. Their shoes were pretty bad on every front as far as I can tell. One of the pairs at the sample sale was ripped at the side.

  41. George on May 31, 2020 at 6:13 am

The most unflattering type of shoe out there

  42. Mike Roy on May 31, 2020 at 6:14 am

Not into drivers myself. But having found you a few weeks ago while researching sneakers,(very helpfull) l watched for the education.
    Thanks.

  43. Ben Heinatz on May 31, 2020 at 6:17 am

The Saks Fifth Ave house brand drivers are very good and indistinguishable from TODD’S. I think they may even be made by them…

  44. rajeev gobin on May 31, 2020 at 6:17 am

At the end of the day these drivers/ mocs are unrepairable and wear quickly so buyer beware.the suede versions also mar and get soiled very easily.i have a few pairs of tods(15 or so) and these are my observations.
That being said i will continue to get Tods as i love their unusual colours ,designs which noone else offers

  45. Nicholas Fitzpatrick on May 31, 2020 at 6:18 am

I think the ‘classic’ Maine brands (Rancourt, Quoddy, Oak Street, etc…) should be looked at for drivers in this category and I would like to see a review of those brands in general, drivers or other silouettes.

  46. Samir Mehta on May 31, 2020 at 6:20 am

I wear tods and they are superb

  47. Jedward Tong on May 31, 2020 at 6:20 am

    M. Gemi doesn’t ship outside the US and Canada 🙁

  48. Calvin Vo on May 31, 2020 at 6:21 am

Very nice. I’m looking at some loafer but these seem like an alternative I should consider.
Do you think these shoes are comfortable to walk in compare to loafer? I live in NYC and commute quite a bit.

  50. Carter Proulx on May 31, 2020 at 6:22 am

Allen Edmonds was selling drivers for $100 on sale
