One of the best ways to pull off the smart casual outfit is to wear dress shoes with jeans. The issue is it’s not as easy as most men think.

In this video I show you how to wear dress shoes with jeans, alongside showing you the basics of wearing shoes with jeans.

What dress shoes should you opt for? What jeans? What should you avoid?

Personally if I ever want to dress up a casual outfit I’ll simply replace sneakers/casual footwear with some dress shoes. Good shoes are a tool in every mans wardrobe as they can seriously improve the style of any outfit.

Agree with everything you said, except you need to hem the Jean’s. Folding Jean’s gives the entire outfit a juvenile look and shows you lack the funds to have your Jean’s properly hemmed at a professional taylor. Properly hemmed Jean’s are a huge fashion statement, especially with expensive fitted jeans.

  9. Armando Rosales on June 9, 2020 at 6:07 am

Can’t stand skinny jeans back in the days the jeans what are straight leg and they were not tight like they are today the pants of today are so ugly skinny jeans make your shoes look humongous like a leprechaun I’ll say to my regular straight leg jeans and they could be a little bit baggy see you’re from England and you guys dressed different

OK I got the brown shoes and belt with jeans, but what color shirt is good, blue? Black? Brown? I saw a red one in the video and that looks quite good. Great video I gave it a like!

1st rule of thumb is to use your own common sense, 2nd rule is to stop watching and listening to crap like this!

Loake Burford Boots or Chester Brogues work perfectly with most jeans whether the rest of your outfit is casual or smart casual.

Hey I had a question and I’m in need of some advice, I have bought myself a pair of oxblood oxfords. I was wondering what colours would look best paired with them. I had the idea of wearing a dark blue jean, a light grey sports jacket and a black crew neck long sleeve shirt. However I don’t know if they would clash. If so could you give me some recommendations? Thanks! ps. Im looking for something semi casual 🙂

I usually put my shoes on my feet. It’s worked out so far. And please stop saying the word "outfits". I don’t know any men who wear outfits.

Wear dress shoes with a thong.

  49. Web Surfer on June 9, 2020 at 7:01 am

I prefer single monks to double, and some black single monks look really good with dark jeans.

  50. markv1 on June 9, 2020 at 7:02 am

It’s simple – pair most formal pair of jeans (non-distressed, dark color, slim fit) with the least formal pair of dress shoes – non-black leather (as it’s most conservative) but rather least conservative – suede, brown/whiskey/tan colored leather, contrast stitching or contrast sole, chunky sole, baroque details, and also less formal shoe design (monk strap, loafer, derby) vs. more formal (oxford). And you are good… Also, I would care about the top too. If you go with dress shoes, it’s better to pair that pair of jeans with a shirt with a collar or a sweater vs. just a t-shirt or a hoodie.
