Ahem .. shouldn’t you get a woman to give her opinions as well? I am not trying to score with the feminists here 😊 Nice video as always.
I’m definitely going to visit Carmina with my future wife and get her shoe game up.
A lot of these so called "luxury" brands are absolutely for suckers with low self-esteem who want to announce to the world they can afford it. In fact a lot of people who buy this crap live from paycheck to paycheck and drown in debt. Yesterday I went to the Flannels store just to take a look and saw a pair of women’s Gianvito Rossi heels for £575. This crap was literally made out of plastic. it looked so uncomfortable, with sharp edges just like if you cut a plastic bottle and made a shoe out of it. I have no idea how you can justify charging this much for a shit like that. Though I admire the designers behind the brand who can persuade stupid public to pay £575 for something that can be made for 10£. The margin is insane. But seriously people who buy it are so dumb. Or I saw Velentino or Gucci shoes with big name "Valentino" "Gucci" written across. I guess they get free advertising from idiots wearing them. I’d be embarrassed to wear stuff like that.
I don’t care about the brand. If I see a piece of clothing that is made of good fabric and fits me well i buy it. And if it does not have any logo even better.
You can pay premium prices for premium clothing. Shoes like crockett and jones or carmina are worth it. Or brand like Private White that makes its clothes in the UK with an amazing attention to detail using the best fabrics, I can justify spending more money. But paying $575 for a piece of plastic is for suckers and losers. These people try to build their own self-worth through artificial stuff. They should do the work on their psychology first.
I did this stuff when I was 13. I took a big "lee" logo from the old jeans and stitched it to the front pocket of my unbranded denim jacket. I wanted to be cool. I was so insecure inside. But I was 13 years old. These people are adults. Kudos to designers, they are laughing all the way to the bank.
Thank you for making this! I watch your vids a lot and I’m glad to see what choices we girls can look at for classier wear.
I love love love these shoes, but none of the brands seem to have women’s shoes in my size. Is there any brand that has nice oxfords for ladies with bigger feet? (size 10 or 10,5).
While I appreciate Valentino, Louis Vuitton etc I really admire craftsmanship and tradition and all the craftsmen that make art out of shoes.
As a man I wouldn’t spend $415 for a men’s shoe.
I buy used for $40, resolve for $175 . $500 for a fraction of the price.
Exactly right exactly right… too many casual lasts, and not enough formal dressy sneakers.
Rich collection.. hi quay products.. perfect salesman (y)
My boyfriend is really geeky about goodyear shoes and he would not believe me that women shoes brands just don’t do it. So he got me one pair of Carmina’s as a present and they are amazing. He’s jealous now. I had never wore "quality" shoes and it astonishes me how confortable they are. Women get completely ripped off by the fashion industry…So good to make a video about this!
Review John Lobb kirby?
Heels with Goodyear welts! I have to make a trip to the city. Thank you.
Loved this and love watching all of your shoe care guides. Please feature more well-made women’s brands in the future! As a woman who has been really disappointed in the quality of most women’s footwear it’s so nice to learn of brands that are actually making women’s shoes to last/perform/look beautiful for decades. Would be really interested to know of your wife’s favorite brands? (Perhaps in a video?) Thank you Kirby!
worlds most punchable face award
good to know. And will buy.
Thank you for sharing this content. I am a woman who has a large collection of Ferragamo, Gucci, Prada etc. suede and leather footwear. Women, in general, are not taught how to care for footwear; I certainly was not. I enjoy learning how to care for my wardrobe (and how to spot a well-dressed man who appreciates quality) from you. Thank you for introducing me to Carmina. What incredible quality and design at such a low price point!
Horrible store. You won’t get service at NYC Carmina, I went there last Monday and barely got a hello. Save your money and buy Garziano n Girling.
Finally! Thank you for this episode on women’s shoes! Please do more! I’m local and will stop by Carmina ASAP.
Update: So I stopped by the NYC store just before Christmas 2019 and was told that a second NYC store would open soon. For women’s shoe sizing, go by your European shoe sizing and not the American shoe sizing if your feet are standard/medium width. I normally wear 37.5/7.5 but Carmina has EU 37.5 = UK 4.5 and American 7.5 = UK 5. I tested both sizes and also both heels and flats at the store and 37.5/4.5 was clearly the right size. The UK 5 feels more like an American 8. Also FYI, the Madison last is more like a medium width while the Lluc last is a tad narrower. Really beautiful shoes and of course I left the store with a new pair!
What’s your take on Ace Mark leather shoes for men?
Love theses shoes! Thank you for realizing women want amazing shoes too
Thanks for helping me slowly but surely elevate my style. I’d love to see a video on vintage clothing accessories, like valet stands, tie racks, and hangars. I have three vintage valet stands (James Mont, Spiegel, and unknown.) and think they add an entirely new dimension to my wardrobe.
Please do other videos for women’s shoes. I am not interested in Gucci,LV,or Chanel. I want a high quality shoe I can wear like a man that won’t tear up my feet
Thanks for including something on women’s shoes!
This was a great video and much needed. There is a lack of good dress shoes for women. It would be amazing if there were more brands catering to formal shoes for women such as Carmina. Thank you again for this video.
Great work Kirby Allison, … feedback, please talk less and let your guest speak, explain, show, inform more.
This episode deserves an Oscar nomination. You hit the nail on the head with this episode for women.

I would LOVE a video on heritage brands for women!
Now I need those lizard slippers, and those braided oxfords.
I’ve seen this in another video on this channel 🤔
Kirby, what was the name of the Oscaria lasted brown suede you were holding? It looks like a chukka but I don’t see this on their website. Thanks.
